Signs You Need Blocked Drain Repair

A cleared drain that misbehaves again is telling you something. Look out for:

  • The same drain is blocked again within a fortnight of a proper clean.
  • Water backs up slower and slower over months instead of stopping suddenly.
  • A patch of lawn or paving stays damp, sunken or smells off with no obvious cause.
  • Gurgling starts up again straight after a clear, not months later.
  • Cracking or hairline movement shows where old earthenware meets a joint.
  • More than one fixture is affected, which can point to a shared line further down (our blocked sewer page covers that scenario in full).

Repeat blockages with no clear cause are exactly what a CCTV drain inspection is for.

What We Handle Under Blocked Drain Repair

Repair means fixing the pipe. Clearing just moves what's blocking it.

Cracked and collapsed sections. Ground movement, roots and age crack earthenware and clay pipe, and a cracked section eventually gives way under its own weight.

No-dig pipe relining. A liner is fed into the existing pipe and cured in place, sealing cracks and root gaps without opening up the yard. Right call when the alignment is sound and the damage is localised.

Excavation, when relining won't cut it. A badly misaligned joint or a fully collapsed run sometimes has to be dug out and replaced. We'll say plainly which one yours needs, and why.

Junction repairs. Old earthenware joints separate over decades where two pipes meet; reseating one joint beats replacing a whole run.

Root-cut clearing first. Roots get cut back so we can actually see the pipe underneath before deciding anything.

If the pipe checks out sound and buildup is the real issue, that belongs on our drain cleaning page instead. We're not selling you a repair you don't need.

The Factors Behind a Blocked Drain Repair Quote

A handful of things move the number, and we talk you through each one on-site.

  • The length and depth of the run that needs fixing.
  • Access: a boundary shaft, a driveway, or open ground.
  • Roots, grease or a genuine structural crack.
  • Relining versus excavation, since one disturbs a lot less ground than the other.
  • One fixture affected, or drainage across the whole property.

Plenty of Peakhurst blocks built before the 1970s have paving or a carport sitting straight over the original earthenware run near Stoney Creek Road.

That surface has to be lifted or worked around before we reach a cracked joint underneath. We answer that access question on-site, then it's locked into your fixed price, never added afterwards.

The quote itself is free, and the price you approve is the price you pay. Ask about $50 off when you book online.

How it works

Our Blocked Drain Repair Process, Start to Finish

1

1. Camera diagnosis first

The drain camera goes down the line first, to pin down the exact break, crack or root intrusion.

2

2. One number, your call

You see the footage, we explain relining versus excavation, and you approve the figure before anyone breaks ground.

3

3. Repair the pipe

Relining, spot excavation or a joint reseat, whichever the camera actually showed was needed.

4

4. Camera-proof and warranty

A second camera pass confirms the fix, and the repair is guaranteed from that day forward.

Whose Drain Is It, and What NSW Requires

Drainage work on the pipes serving your property has to be carried out by a licensed plumber under NSW law, full stop. That rule exists so a bodged repair doesn't fail again in a year.

The pipework between your house and the boundary shaft is yours to maintain. Past that point, it's the water authority's main, not yours and not ours.

If a repaired section still backs up and the neighbours report the same thing, that usually points to a mains issue rather than anything on your side of the boundary. Our blocked sewer page walks through that boundary properly.

Every job runs under NSW plumbing licence #275278C, with $20 million public liability insurance behind it.

The Difference on a Blocked Drain Repair Job

Anyone with an eel can buy you a week. Fixing it properly means finding the real fault first, then standing behind that fix.

You get one number before we lift a spanner, so nothing changes once the ground's open.

If a repair doesn't hold, we come back and put it right. No cost to you.

Common questions

Common Blocked Drain Repair FAQs

Do you handle strata or commercial blocked drain repair in Peakhurst?

Yes. Strata blocks and commercial sites are quoted the same way as houses: a licensed plumber inspects, you get one number to approve, and the repair carries the same guarantee as any house call.

Can I try to clear it myself first?

A plunger is fine for one slow-draining sink. Once the pipe itself is cracked or collapsed, clearing tools won't fix that and pushing harder can shove debris further down the line.

Do you offer blocked drain repair in Peakhurst on weekends?

Every day of the year. A real person answers the phone, day or night, and we're on-site in 30 minutes guaranteed.

Will you show me proof the drain is clear?

The camera goes back through the repaired section and we play the footage on-site, so you can see the pipe is sound before we pack the van.

Why does my drain keep blocking after other plumbers clear it?

Whoever cleared it last was probably only ever addressing the blockage, not the broken pipe underneath. A shifted joint or hairline crack keeps letting roots and dirt back in, so the same drain blocks again within weeks until the pipe itself gets fixed.

What are the signs I need blocked drain repair?

The same spot blocking again and again, gurgling that starts up straight after a clear, or a patch of ground that stays soft and smells off all point to the pipe itself, not a one-off clog.
