Blocked Drains in Mortdale, Cleared Properly

The suburb grew up around its railway station, opened in 1897 at the corner of Morts Road and Pitt Street.

A wave of returning WWI soldiers settled the streets in the 1920s. That history sits behind Morts Road today: older brick and semi-detached cottages behind the shopping strip, with newer apartment infill only close to the platform.
